From the day of templating, we typically aim to install your new worktops within 7-10 working days. This can vary slightly depending on the complexity of the job and the material chosen.

What's the difference between granite and quartz?

Accepted Answer

Granite is a 100% natural stone, meaning every slab is unique. It is highly heat-resistant. Quartz is an engineered stone (around 93% quartz, 7% resin) which makes it non-porous (stain-proof) and available in a wide variety of consistent colours and patterns.

Do I need to seal my granite worktop?

Yes. Granite is a porous natural stone and needs to be sealed to protect it from stains. We apply a professional-grade sealant upon installation, and we recommend resealing it every few years. It's a simple process you can do yourself.

Are quartz worktops completely heatproof?

Quartz is highly heat-resistant, but not heatproof. The resin can be damaged by sudden, extreme temperature changes. We always recommend using trivets or hot pads for pans coming directly from the hob or oven.

Which material is more durable?

Both are extremely durable. Quartz is technically harder and more scratch-resistant, while granite has superior resistance to heat. For normal kitchen use, both are excellent, long-lasting choices.
